MICHAEL IVOS

Managing Director

He started his career in the Piraeus-based family-owned shipbroking business.

From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a shipbroker in Galbraith’s Ltd, London,representing mainly multipurpose & handysize shipowners and companies involved in the trading of steel and aluminum products.

In 1996 joined Fomentos Armadora SA as Chartering and S&P Manager, up to 1999 when the last vessel was sold.

From 1999 until recently he worked for a leading Greek steel- making group, rising to a top management position, and has headed various departments such as raw materials supply and logistics, international trading of scrap and steel products, flat steel product sales development and distribution networks. In addition, he oversaw the setup and operation of the group’s in-house chartering department which handles 50-100 fixtures per year in vessels from minis up to supramax size.

He holds a BA in Economics (Distinction) from the American College of Greece and an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from CASS Business School, London.


MICHAEL SOTIRIADIS

Technical Director

He joined Fomentos Armadora SA in 1986 as apprentice engineer, rising to Superintendent Engineer in 1987 and to Technical Manager in 1992, holding this position up to 1999 when the last vessel was sold. He was also responsible for the creation and operation of the company’s ISM system.

From 1999 and until 2009 he worked for a leading Greek industrial group as Business Development Manager for the marine industry. In 2009 he joined an aluminum extrusions producer, member of the same group, heading sales of industrial products, a position he kept until rejoining Fomentos Armadora SA in 2011.

He holds a BSc (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK and an MSc in Marine Engineering from the University of London and he is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
